The Royals has hired Droga5 strategy director Michaela Futcher and Naked Communications’ communications director Andrew Reeves in an effort to bolster the agency’s planning and communication offering.

Futcher joins as planning director based out of the Sydney office while Andrew Reeves takes up the communications director position in Melbourne.

The Royals strategic partner Dave King said in a statement: “We feel privileged to have two such highly talented, strategic heads joining us at a really exciting time in The Royals’ evolution. Both could have chosen from a bunch of different places to further their careers but I think, as an agency, our ambitions aligned with theirs and they picked up on the infectious enthusiasm that exudes from a creative agency in a time of real momentum.”

Futcher joins the agency after nearly four years with Droga5, the last five months of which she was the strategy director while Reeves joins following nearly two-and-a-half years with Naked.

“Combined with our existing strategy resources it forms a pretty powerful offering to our growing client base,” added King.

The appointments follow recent business growth including Sensis Deakin University, MRC, Momentum Energy and Google.
