The announcement:

Melbourne-based specialist behaviour change organisation The Shannon Company has officially expanded its advertising, production and public relations footprint to Canberra with the appointment of business director Rosemary Ball at the helm.

Over the last 30 years, The Shannon Company has delivered communication campaigns and TVCs that build emotional connection to inspire awareness, engagement and long-lasting behaviour change.

The Shannon Company’s changePR division began a year ago which has built a solid foundation of clients on influencing and shaping people’s attitudes, beliefs and behaviours through strategic communications and messaging, using insights from psychology, sociology and behavior change theories to develop effective campaigns that work.

Together with it’s clients across Federal and State Governments, corporate and not-for-profit sectors, changePR has tackled a range of social issues and helped establish, build and guide significant brands nationally.

The expansion to National Circuit, Barton, will provide The Shannon Company’s Federal Government and ACT clients with on-ground support for all strategic brand, marketing and communication services.

Rosemary Ball brings a wealth of account management, public relations, media training and stakeholder engagement experience, previously leading the strategic planning and execution on federal government behaviour change campaigns such as COVID-19’s ‘Top Up’ booster campaign and Defence Force Recruiting as well as corporate and NFP clients.

Her cross-portfolio knowledge and unparalleled experience from her time as a reporter at News Corp, and agency-side has established her as one of Australia’s leading public relations specialists.

Managing partner Michael Daddo said changePR had an exceptional first year in business with significant growth and the expansion into Canberra and appointment of Rosie allows us to strengthen our relationships with clients to deliver impactful results.

“Rosie’s passion for creating positive societal impact is evident in her strategic thinking, and with one of the best black books, crafts compelling narratives and communicate complex messages with sensitivity and authenticity,” director of PR Justine Sywak said.

As a B&T 30 under 30 finalist in 2023, Rosemary is keen to continue inspiring change, willingly and for good, along with nurturing the next generation of public relations stars who are keen to make the world a better place.
