The Video Company makes two new hires

The Video Company has appointed Ninemsn’s  Sarah Hassanin and AKA Digital’s Kenny Griffiths to its internet television network division –  The Video Network.

The announcement:

The Video Company (TVC) has hired two of the digital industry’s rising stars for its new internet television network division The Video Network (TVN).

Sarah Hassanin, formerly ninemsn national head of video, and Kenny Griffiths, formerly General Manager AKA Digital, are joining TVN in November to help increase its sales footprint in Australia.

TVN MD Peter Ostick said that the pair will bring with them significant TV and digital broadcast experience combined with an understanding of exactly what agencies want.

“At TVN we also want to work with super-smart people with infectious personalities, and both Sarah and Kenny are exactly that,” he said.

These appointments follow TVC’s recent announcement that it has received substantial funding from internet investment company Netus, which specialises in bringing proven international technologies to the Australian market.

The TVN concept has also received a very positive response from advertisers, such as the Westpac Group, Paramount Pictures, Optus and Telstra, etc, since launching on 1 August 2010.

Mr Ostick said, “We are having to expand quickly due to the strong demand from audio visual buyers wanting to target elusive light TV-viewers with their 15 or 30 second ads across multiple devices, such as PC, IPTV, iPhone, iPad, etc.

“Our technology allows us to target exact audience segments, which is very attractive for TV buyers wanting to reduce the wastage of serving to the wrong audience.

“And digital delivery means we are able to offer a variety of ad formats, creating a more engaging experience for the viewer by allowing them to choose what ad is most relevant to them and then share it via social media,” he said.
