Tickets for the AACTAs on sale now
Tickets for the inaugural AACTA Awards are now on sale.
Tickets to the AACTA Awards Luncheon on Sunday 15 January at Sydney’s Westin Hotel are $235.
For the AACTA Awards Ceremony at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 31 January, tickets are $150 for the ceremony, or ceremony and official after party, $295.

They’re charging for a night of luxury and glamour, when this is the first ever AACTA event and is more than likely going to be a middling affair. Market yourself as an organisation for the people, with cheap tickets and a festival type atmosphere. Australia just doesn’t have the industry or the audience of a posh Oscars-clone. I guess the bigwigs behind this idea have a bit of a short man syndrome (Australia can have shiny trophies and a red carpet too!)
