Australian Swimming Championships delivered 485,000 for Seven

Nine’s Today show has earned its largest audience of the year, again outperforming Sunrise in the breakfast shoot-out with a five cities average audience of 364,000.

The show topped Sunrise’s audience of 342,000.

However, nights remain the domain of Seven, as My Kitchen Rules edged ahead of last week’s Wednesday night audience figures, adding almost 50,000 – with 1.349m tuning in at 7:30pm.

News and current affairs dominated the balance of the top shows, with Seven News taking the honours at 6:00pm with 1.048m compared with Nine News at 6:00pm which attracted 1.016m. At 6:30pm, Seven News achieved 1.022m, while Nine News recorded 964,000.

The Big Bang Theory at 7:30pm was the second most popular general entertainment show with the Nine sitcom up on the previous week, with an audience of 872,000.

The ABC’s The Weekly with Charlie Pickering at 8:30pm slipped slightly, down from 590,000 to 560,000.

Seven’s coverage of the Australian Swimming Championships at 9:00pm delivered an audience of 485,000.
