Tony Award-winning Michael Jackson Broadway show coming to Australia
MJ The Musical is confirmed to be heading to Australia.
The multiple Tony Award winning production will be brought out by Michael Cassel Group in February 2025 and is set to run exclusively at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre.
The show centres on the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous world tour and looks back on the childhood and life of the controversial popstar.
The show first opened in February 2022 at New York’s Neil Simon Theatre and went on to pick up 10 Tony nominations – winning four.
MJ The Musical is directed and choreographed by Christoper Wheeldon OBE, who also won the Tony for best choreography for a musical for his work on the show.
MJ The Musical is the latest Broadway hit to head to Australia on the back of recent productions undertaking local runs, included Wicked, while Chicago and Hamilton are also set to return in 2024.
