TorchMedia retains portion of Metro Trains Melbourne contract

TorchMedia has extended its rights to the exteriors of Metro Train Melbourne’s carriages for a further seven years.

The announcement comes two weeks after Adshel revealed it had won an additional 15 rail lines and 218 stations, as part of its Metro Trains Melbourne contract.

Meanwhile, APN Outdoor revealed three months ago it was the preferred partner for Metro Trains Melbourne.

TorchMedia’s agreement – which commenced in 2011 – includes the rights to 200 railcars. Since then, TorchMedia has expanding its offering, delivering exterior advertising in Sydney and as well as train advertising in Brisbane.

Kirsty Dollisson, managing director at TorchMedia, said the re-appointment she was excited to extend the relationship.

“Metro Trains has the largest share of public transport patronage accounting for 39% of all trips and is a key transit platform for reaching Melbournians,” Dollisson said.
