Toyota drives home locally-built message

Toyota: "Built by Australians for Australians"

Toyota has launched a campaign to inform Australians that the Japanese carmaker’s Camry and Aurion marques are locally built by local people.

Supported with the tagline ‘Built by Australians for Australians’, the ad features Toyota employees from a plant in Melbourne.

The agency behind the ad was Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney.

There are two versions – 60 and 30 seconds.

The campaign is scheduled to run until the end of October.

Scott Thompson, Toyota’s division manager national marketing said: “The six employees that feature in our campaign all nominated themselves because they are proud to play a part in making something bigger. They have all physically touched and put their heart into making every vehicle that leaves our plant.”

“You can’t escape the passion in their voice or look of pride when they are going about their day to day job. They are the people that make Toyota what it is today and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate workforce,” he said.

As part of the campaign, the Japanese carmaker will be sponsoring the People’s Choice category at News Limited’s Pride of Australia Awards.
