Tradingpost.com.au appoints Andrew Beecher as marketing boss
Andrew Beecher, the former marketing head at Carsales.com.au, has been appointed as manager of consumer and digital marketing at struggling online classified sales site Tradingpost.com.au, Mumbrella can reveal.
Beecher, who was headhunted by Tradingpost.com.au’s owner Telstra, returns to the industry after two years running a family farm business.
“I joined Trading Post just as BWM was exiting the Telstra business,” he said. “My first task has been to realign the brand with marketing that is more reflective of our core business – driving transactions.”
After Carsales.com.au, where he was general manager, marketing & business operations for a four-year spell until 2007, Beecher took on the role of group marketing director at online marketing company, Webfirm.
He worked at Webfirm for two and a half years before becoming a farmer.
“Trading Post has been selling stuff in Australia since 1966. It should never have lost its dominant market position.Trading Post has fantastic brand recognition, but that hasn’t resonated with consumers,” he said.
“We want to challenge the incumbent market leaders with a brand that people love, and love it because it means something – a trusted platform that drives transactions.”
Congratulations Andrew. Good to see you back in the thick of it again.

Not sure why Andrew needs to take a sly dig at bwm or why he needs to mention them at all. After all it takes the client to not only write a brief but to approve the work. Anyway best of luck and congratulations Andrew.

Milking cows or serving more bulls(hit), same s#*t different shovel. The aim is to build and this classic brand by being genuinely interested and passionate, not by treading water while you work out how the family farm fell through and how you’re going to eventually own a boat yard. Play the honest game, no spin and you’ll do a great job!!!
