Travel Guides ties with Hard Quiz as Nine wins Wednesday

OzTam’s daily overnight television ratings produced an unlikely tie between Nine’s Travel Guides and ABC’s Hard Quiz.

Both programs collected an average of 672,000 metro listeners on Wednesday, making them the equal #1 rating programs on an evening won by Nine.

Among other entertainment programs, Seven’s Home And Away (580,000 metro viewers) and Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell on the ABC (572,000 metro viewers) came in third and forth for non-news programming.

Both rated higher than primetime flagship shows including MasterChef, which had 561,000 metro viewers, and Big Brother, which brought in 558,000 metro viewers for Seven.

In the key advertising demographics, Big Brother took 16-39 while Nine News claimed 18-49 and 25-54.

The battle in network share between Nine and Seven was tight again, but the former claimed victory with a 27.6% audience share.

Seven had 27.2%, while Ten’s 18.5% was just enough to pip the ABC with 18.2%.

Seven News was once again the top-performing program overall, bringing in an average of 1.074 million metro viewers, ahead of Nine News with 1.038 million metro viewers.

The #1 multi-channel on Wednesday was 10 Bold with a 3.9% single-channel share.
