Travel Guides wins Wednesday entertainment, Nine beats Seven in overall share

Nine’s Travel Guides topped Wednesday night entertainment programming, leading the network to a win in overall share at 27.4%, just 0.1% ahead of Seven.

The show aired to 560,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s The Chase Australia had 525,000.

Overall, Seven News retained the top spot, airing to 907,000 metro viewers. It was followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 878,000, Nine News at 6:30 with 823,000, Nine News with 821,000, and A Current Affair with 603,000.

In entertainment, Seven’s The 1% Club aired to 521,000 metro viewers. Home and Away had 487,000 metro viewers, followed by the ABC’s Hard Quiz with 472,000. Ten’s MasterChef Australia had 365,000 metro viewers, while SBS’ Alone Australia had 245,000.

As mentioned, Nine won Wednesday night in overall share with 27.4%, with Seven close behind with 27.3%. The ABC was third with 18.1%, followed by Network 10 with 16.2% and SBS with 10.9%.

Nine and Seven tied as the top primary channel, with 19.7%. The top rated multichannel was 10Peach, at 3.2%, followed by ABC Kids/ABC TV Plus and 7Two, both at 3.0%.

Seven News continued as the #1 program in the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 17 May. It had a Total TV audience of 1.539 million metro viewers, with a 3% uplift and BVOD audience of 46,000.

Seven News at 6:30, Nine News, Nine News at 6:30 and A Current Affair all had Total TV audiences of over a million. Travel Guides had a 23% uplift, with a Total TV audience of 1.053 million metro viewers, and 123,000 on BVOD.

SBS’ Alone Australia had the biggest uplift of 166%, with a Total TV audience of 841,000 and BVOD audience of 265,000.
