Trial By Kyle brings 363,000 metro viewers to Ten for first episode

The first episode of Ten’s Pilot Week commission Trial By Kyle, which stars Kyle Sandilands in a Judge Judy style role, has delivered 363,000 metro viewers to Ten.

This put Trial By Kyle ahead of Love Island on Nine (298,000), and Kong: Skull Island on Seven (260,000), but behind Escape From The City on the ABC (459,000).

Trial By Kyle’s Pilot Week episode last year had 385,000 metro viewers. The 2019 Pilot Week pilots included I Am Roxy which pulled 399,000 metro viewers, Part Time Private Eyes which drew 344,000 and Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians for 175,000 metro viewers.

Ten has already axed 2018 Pilot Week show Saturday Night Rove this year for poor ratings.

It aired at 8:30pm, after The Bachelorette which delivered 624,000 metro viewers. In national figures, Trial By Kyle brought in 528,000 viewers and The Bachelorette delivered 824,000.

The Bachelorette was the most-watched program in the three key advertising demographics of 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s, and Ten was the most-watched channel in the 25-54s (18.3%) and 16-39s (21.9%).

The most-watched program for the night was Seven News (868,000 metro viewers and 1.32m national), sitting above Nine News (707,000 and 947,000). ABC News delivered 584,000 metro viewers and 854,000 national.

Nine’s 7:30pm offering of RBT brought in 440,000 metro viewers. Home and Away delivered 507,000 for Seven at 7:30 pm.

It was Seven’s night overall. The channel held a 17.9% audience share and 29.5% as a network, while Nine held 16.1% and 25.2%. ABC held third place with 13.4% as a channel, followed by Ten on 12.7%. As a network though, Ten slipped ahead with 19.3%, followed by ABC on 18.5%. 10 Bold, 7Mate and 7Two all tied for most-watched multi-channel on 4.3%.
