Full-service indie agency Apparent has hired David Jackson as an executive creative director.
Jackson’s career in the industry has seen him fill creative and director roles at well-known agencies, such as creative partner at DDB, senior art director and creative director at M+C Saatchi Australia, and senior creative at VML.
Most recently, he was national executive creative director at Tribal Worldwide, and worked at the agency for four years from August 2021 to June 2025. While at Tribal, Jackson’s clients included McDonald’s, Foxtel, Quiksilver, Virgin, Westpac and Volkswagen.
He will work alongside Hamish Stewart — Apparent’s chief creative and experience officer — to manage the business’s creative department.
Stewart commented on Jackson’s appointment in a media release, explaining that the longtime industry professional is expected to boost Apparent’s creative output and thinking.

“David brings the kind of creative leadership that thrives where each collides,” he said. “He’ll help us push our thinking and deliver work that not only captures attention, but drives real, measurable outcomes for our clients.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Apparent at such an exciting moment in the agency’s growth. What drew me to Apparent is their restless ambition to build on an already successful foundation,” Jackson said in the release.
“There’s something compelling in the understated confidence this independent agency embodies. They walk the walk, not just talk the talk. It’s awesome to be working with Hamish again, too – one of the nicest blokes in the industry.
“We’re both driven to redefine how brands connect with people by weaving together experience, stories, and culture. I can’t wait to work alongside him and the hugely talented team to do that for our current and future clients. Game on.”
Jackson joins Apparent weeks after the agency shared that it had made three creative hires for its team: Sam McGuinness as creative director for visual design; and Leisa Ilander and Gillian Dalla Pozza as joint creative directors.
In July, its now-former creative director Jackson Long departed Apparent to take on social impact work.
