Tribe ramps up sales efforts with hire of Nick Randall and Sammy Lewis

Influencer platform Tribe has hired media sales heavyweights Nick Randall as its chief revenue officer and former HuffPost commercial director Sammy Lewis as sales director.

Randall is a former sales boss of Fairfax Radio Network, and took charge of the sales operation of Macquarie Media when Macquarie Radio Network and Fairfax merged their radio assets in 2015.

Earlier in his career, Randall also ran Southern Cross Austereo’s sales operations. Most recently, he spent just over a year working with podcasting startup Whooshkaa.

Sammy Lewis spent four months as commercial director at HuffPost late last year before most of the staff were made redundant when the joint venture with the US owners and Fairfax Media was axed. Before that she was a sales manager for REA Group.

Randall said in a press release: “The Tribe proposition of premium content at unprecedented scale, unparalleled speed and at a fraction of the cost is something I cannot wait to introduce to brands around the world.”

Tribe CEO Anthony Svirskis added: “Nick’s commencement at Tribe couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Over two and a half years, the growth in our core Australia and UK markets has been beyond expectation and we now require additional layers of maturity to transition from a fast growth start-up into a sophisticated mar-tech solution.”

Lewis said: “I’m ecstatic to be joining Tribe. I look forward to leading the sales team and working with brands and agencies on all things influencer and content marketing,” Lewis added.

Tribe was founded by radio presenter Jules Lund with former Shoply general manager Svirskis joining as CEO in 2015. The platform’s model aims to automate the ability of brands to connect and commission influencers
