Triple M Brisbane promotes Scott Menz to content director

Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M has promoted Scott Menz to Brisbane content director, effective today.

Menz has been with the station for six years, and has previously worked as the executive producer of The Big Breakfast and, most recently, as assistant content director.

Menz starts in his new role today

Network head Mike Fitzpatrick said: “You’d be hard pressed to find a more passionate radio guy than Scott Menz. He’s been involved in this industry since before he’d even left primary school. I have no doubt Triple M Brisbane is in very capable hands with Scott.”

Menz began his career as a production manager and breakfast announcer in 2001. Three years later, he held roles including program director, national executive producer and assistant music director at Nova, a network he remained at for more than eight years.

“I’m incredibly thrilled to be leading a team of brilliant people, on and off the air, at Triple M Brisbane,” Menz said of his new role.

“This station’s history of success in Brisbane is not lost on me, so I consider myself lucky to steer the ship into 2020 and beyond.”

In the most recent GfK radio ratings survey, Triple M Brisbane declined in the breakfast and drive slots. In her final weeks on Brisbane radio, Robin Bailey’s The Big Breakfast dropped one ratings point to finish fourth in the slot, with 10.2% share.

At the other end of the day, and after dropping 1.1 points in the previous survey, Triple M’s drive show with Mick Molloy and Jane Kennedy lost another 0.2 ratings points, remaining in fifth position on a 9.5% share.

Despite the drops in these key slots, Triple M gained 0.2 points overall in the Brisbane market, securing an 11% audience share and staying in third position, behind Nova and 97.3 FM.

Last week, the network’s Sydney post named Rex Morris as the city’s content director, following the decision to move Jamie Angel to SCA station 2Day FM where he currently works on the breakfast music program.
