Triple M loses another big name

Natarsha Belling announced on air on Tuesday morning that she will be stepping down as co-host of Triple M Breakfast, Sydney, less than six weeks after the launch of the new team.

Belling was a regular contributor to Triple M’s previous breakfast show, Mick & MG in the Morning, delivering the morning news over the past two years.

Upon the shock removal of Mark Geyer from Triple M after 17 years at the station, and Mick Molloy’s move to the Melbourne breakfast show, Belling was promoted to the co-host role for Sydney breakfast, alongside new hosts, former NRL players Beau Ryan and Aaron Woods.

Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Tarsh & Woodsy launched on January 20 – the same day Belling also started presenting a new hour-long, midday news bulletin, daily on Channel Seven.

Belling revealed on air this morning she was leaving the breakfast lineup to join The Briefing, an afternoon news podcast on SCA’s Listnr platform.

“I do have some news now,” Belling said, explaining how journalism is “part of [her] DNA” and “where [her] passion is and always will be.”

“I also anchor the National News at Noon on Channel Seven, and this new afternoon gig is the perfect match,” she said.

“While I love breakfast radio, I’m going to have to farewell you guys, and I want to thank SCA giving me this incredible opportunity to join the amazing team at The Briefing on LiSTNR.”

Belling is the second big-name presenter to leave Triple M in the past two weeks, following Marty Sheargold’s controversial departure last week.
