Turia Pitt fronts the first campaign for Avène from digital agency Slik

Ultramarathon athlete, Turia Pitt, has fronted a campaign for French brand, Avène’s sunscreen.

In the ad, Pitt describes how her life experiences have taught her the importance of being strong but also knowing when to be sensitive, reflecting the sunscreen’s properties of strong SPF protection for those with sensitive skin.

It is the first campaign from Slik, after it recently won a three-way pitch for the creative and media duties of a variety of Pierre Fabre brands in Australia.

Julie Dejean, head of Eau Thermale Avène and digital marketing at Pierre Fabre, said: “Slik showed strong strategic and creative thinking during the pitch and we’re delighted to be working with them. The campaign they have produced with Turia is beautiful, emotional and a true reflection of the Avène brand.”

Simon Jaroz, who was appointed as ECD of Slik in September, commented: “Through adversity, Turia Pitt has demonstrated immense physical and emotional strength and is inspirational to many. We’ve highlighted these qualities to reflect Avène sunscreen’s new ‘Strong Sensitive’ positioning, demonstrating its effectiveness for those with sensitive skin.”

The 60-second film will appear online, and the campaign will be executed across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, magazine editorial and through Chemist Warehouse and Priceline media.

In September, Slik was engaged by mixed martial arts organisation, UFC, to create a fan engagement platform.
