Uber Pool and G Flip offer free rides this Mardi Gras weekend
Uber is offering free Uber Pool rides to partygoers this weekend as part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival, with a special Aussie singer-songwriter guest.
Singer, drummer and LGBTQIA+ advocate, G Flip, will be riding around on Saturday, with customers encouraged to enter a competition for the chance to share a ride with them.
Fresh off setting the record for the most entries in the triple j Hottest 100 ever, G Flip will accompany those celebrating Mardi Gras as they head out to parades, parties, and other festival events.
“I’m so stoked to be back in Australia for Mardi Gras,” they said.
“It’s one of my favourite days of the year. I’m going to be hopping in a few Uber Pool rides on the day of the parade so stay safe, book an Uber and hopefully we can hang out for a cheeky little ride! Happy Mardi Gras beautiful humans!”
For every Uber Pool ride taken on Mardi Gras weekend with G Flip, Uber will make a donation to Minus18, Australia’s champions for LGBTQIA+ youth.
The company is also offering free Uber Pool rides between 12pm-10pm on Saturday to encourage safety this Mardi Gras.
