The digital specialist has made the move as part of developing an ‘always on’ 24-hour model for its UK client base, as well as servicing its international clients.

Project Octo was founded three years ago, and the founder of the Australian arm of its operation, Ketan Mistry, said this step was the first in developing a globally recognised brand.

“The decision to relocate to Oz is something that fits with Project Octo’s long-term expansion plans, which have always been to be a globally recognisable name,” Mistry said.

“We’ve got a big job ahead of us, but I’m really excited to be putting a British flag in the ground in Melbourne, as I think we’re one of very few UK digital agencies to open an office there.”

The agency specialises in digital and ecommerce and has worked with clients including Subway, Adacca and Healthy step.

Project Octo is also betting heavily on the development of an ecommerce software platform, Shopit, which it will be making available to retailers, developers and agencies over coming months.

The agency is yet to announce its Australian clients.
