UM wins Tempur from Mitchells

Mediabrands media agency UM Melbourne has won the account of Danish bed and mattresses maker Tempur – replacing incumbent Mitchell & Partners.

The assignment covers communications strategy, buying, digital and search.

Jason Nicholas, Tempur Australia and New Zealand MD, said: “We are entering a period of heightened investment in our national marketing as Tempur becomes the world’s favourite mattress and pillow company and as such we believe UM will be a highly effective partner for Tempur.”

UM Melbourne MD Wendy Gower said: “We have proposed a number of innovative initiatives for Tempur that we would like the opportunity to build into Tempur’s media communications mix for 2012. We are looking forward to contributing significantly to their business.”

The appointment is effective in January.
