University of Adelaide encourages students to Seek Light and change how they think

The University of Adelaide has followed up its 2013 Seek Light campaign with another TV-led effort which encourages potential students to change how they think by choosing to study at the University of Adelaide.

Created by Nation, the spot features images showing current students, faculty staff and graduates in different settings around the university where light is used as a metaphor for illumination – the discovery of new knowledge.

“Seek Light was a response to our Strategic Plan and it highlighted the distinctive aspects of the institution,” said professor Warren Bebbington, University of Adelaide vice chancellor. “It’s been three years since we introduced the concept and the campaign has exceeded all expectations.”

The University of Adelaide launched the original Seek Light campaign in May 2013.

“This next iteration of Seek Light will engage people around the outcomes and benefits they experience as a result of studying here,” said Ben Grindlay, director of marketing and communications.

“We want people to understand that an education at The University of Adelaide goes beyond your first job. It represents a learning experience that enables you for the rest of your life.”

Geoff Robertson, creative director at Nation, said in a statement: “We felt like we were recording our second album after a number one hit. We faced the project with a mixture of both excitement and trepidation.”

The integrated campaign includes cinema, television, outdoor, and digital components and launches on Sunday, May 1.
