The pair join board fellow board members Adam Furness, Aimee Buchanan, David Park, Danny Bass, Kerry Field, Kerry McCabe and Rebecca Darley.

Venessa Hunt commented on her new role: “As someone who understands some of the experiences those faced by the young people UnLtd helps, I feel strongly about using our collective power as an industry to help break the cycle of youth disadvantage. I’m excited to be joining the UnLtd Board at such an exciting time and being able to use my skills and connections to help grow the impact of this amazing organisation.”

Kerry McCabe, founder and chair of UnLtd, said of the new appointments: “Our team is delighted to welcome Karen and Venessa into more formal roles. Not only are they both well respected professionals and absolute experts in their fields, they have demonstrated their passion for UnLtd over many years. From climbing Kilimanjaro to spending nights in prison and mentoring young people in our charities’ programs, both Karen and Ness will bring their energy and expertise to help our board and team to execute on our forward plans in the very UnLtd way of rolling their sleeves up and getting it done.”

The announcement comes after UnLtd confirmed its strategic plan for the 2020 financial year.

Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd, said the organisation was on track for its 2021 goals.

“UnLtd has experienced unprecedented growth in the last two years and we’re well on our way to reaching our goal of $100m in social impact by 2021,” Freel said.

“To help us achieve our goal, we’ve commenced these exciting new projects. Social commerce, as evidenced by the success of ‘Pitch for Purpose’ gives creative and passionate people in the industry the opportunity to create and launch B2B and B2C products leveraging the capabilities of our industry. Deeper measurement of our impact, and the impact of our charity partners, will aid our effectiveness in helping young people in need while showing all of our supporters exactly what was achieved through their contributions. Leveraging technology platforms will give more people in the industry the opportunity to get involved with projects though crowd sourcing, social media and virtual team platforms.”

In June, UnLtd appointed Tiffany Damm as general manager in Melbourne. At the time of Damm’s appointment, Katie Rudge and Louise Pay joined as account directors, and Bronte Mikel was hired as events manager.
