Vic Wolff named as new HSBC marketing boss

Former ING Direct marketing boss Vic Wolff has been appointed as HSBC Bank Australia’s head of marketing.

The role includes advertising, product marketing, market research, sponsorship, events, customer analytics and CRM.

All of HSBC’s agency relationships are with WPP agencies as part of a global deal.

HSBC CEO Paulo Maia said: “Vic Wolff’s appointment underscores HSBC’s commitment to growing our presence in Australia. In 2010, we significantly increased our investment in the HSBC brand and I’m delighted to have Vic on board as we continue to ramp up our brand presence in the Australian market and expand our marketing activity across all business lines.”

Wolff was executive director of marketing and communications at ING Direct from 2006 to 2010. He previously worked in ING marketing roles in the USA and Netherlands.
