Vice Australia’s Jamie Brewer departs for Monster Children

Vice Australia sales director Jamie Brewer has left after almost 11 years with the business, to join youth publisher Monster Children as commercial director of its Australian operations, effective immediately.

Brewer will be responsible for guiding the growth of Monster Children’s commercial activity across its local publishing business.

Brewer leaves Vice after over a decade with the publisher

Monster Children magazine launched in Sydney in 2003 and has expanded from a quarterly magazine into a media house with various publishing platforms, a film production house and a creative agency business with clients including Canon, Corona, Adidas, Levi’s and Jameson.

Rachel Blackley, Monster Children CEO, said Brewer’s experience in the space made him the right fit for the role.

“We’re really excited to welcome Jamie to the Monster Children team, he is widely respected in the industry and has a great deal of experience to share with us,” said Blackley.

“Importantly he brings both commercial and creative capabilities to the role and we’re looking forward to growing all aspects of our publishing business with him.”

Brewer said he’s a long-time fan of the Monster Children business and is keen to join the team.

“I’ve been a fan of Monster Children for years and am really looking forward to joining such a culturally dynamic organisation” said Brewer.

“I’ll be focused on forging new commercial partnerships and opportunities as well as building depth and scale across Monster Children’s publishing and distribution platforms.”
