Visual Jazz Isobar develops stationery app
Children’s stationery brand Smiggle has launched an app developed by digital agency Visual Jazz Isobar. The app runs across iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
The announcement:
Smiggle has brought the colour and energy of its stationery brand to life with the launch of its first official mobile app, ‘Bob & the Smiggle Colour Lab’, now available through iTunes.
Developed by Visual Jazz Isobar (VJI) and created in conjunction with Smiggle, Bob & the Smiggle Colour Lab is a physics puzzle game that’s all about quirky, fun and challenging brain teasers.
‘Bob’ is a splash of colour who loves exploring the Smiggle Colour Lab but needs help to find his way, with users guiding him through the Lab by solving complex puzzles.
Emma Fulford, Marketing Manager at Smiggle, said: “Excitement has been building amongst Smiggle’s fan base for weeks now, as we encouraged our Facebook fans to give us feedback on the game design. We’re now very happy to officially introduce Bob to the world.”
Erik Hallander, Interactive Director at VJI, said the team hoped to see Bob gain universal popularity.
“We conducted extensive user testing throughout the build and we’re confident that Bob has very broad appeal. Smiggle backed this game with the simple intention to create a great experience that all gamers, including but not exclusive to Smiggle fans, would love to play with.”
“It’s the first mobile app for Smiggle and it’s very exciting to roll it out and watch it take off from here.”
There are 48 puzzles within the first launch of the game, with more developments to come. Users guide Bob through the colour lab by solving realistic physics and gravity challenges, picking up extra points along the way to unlock costumes and special features.
Bob & the Smiggle Colour Lab is now available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for $0.99AUD.

Sorry but this isn’t a stationary app that could have helped me buy more products, its a useless game!
Not only that but its so similar to all the other games online that I have to say its a rip off…sorry! its a mix between, cut the rope, angry bird and another game
Back to my main point …how does this game sell any stationary is well beyond my understanding as this has no purpose for someone like me who wants to buy smiggle products…
Personally, it misses the mark. Sorry

Ah…. the joy of stationery vs stationary…. if this is a stationary app Tim, then it’s not moving. However, as it’s an app about stationery it is in fact moving and isn’t stationary. Personally, your spelling misses the mark. D minus methinks.
