VMLY&R emerges victorious in QUT creative pitch
VMLY&R has been selected as Queensland University of Technology’s creative agency of record, following a competitive pitch process that began in September.
The account attracted over 25 agencies interested in taking the account off the hands of BCM, after the agency ended its 23-year partnership with the institution.
The partnership will leverage the full extent of VMY&R’s service offering, including brand, creative, digital experience and content.
VMLY&R Brisbane managing director, Adam Kennedy, said of the appointment: “We’re delighted to partner with QUT and look forward to working on such a highly regarded brand; one which provides transformative education, student experiences and research.
“Evolving and growing QUT’s brand across the entire student journey is a once in a generation opportunity for us.”
Executive director of marketing and communication at QUT, Xavier Amouroux, added: “We have found in VMLY&R a partner that will deliver cutting-edge creative and digital thinking, and also has the right cultural fit with our team, partners and the wider university. We are looking forward to working in partnership with them.”
The account is the second major win for VMLY&R’s Brisbane office in a matter of weeks, having last month been engaged to deliver the Olympic and Paralympic emblems for the 2023 Brisbane Olympic Games.
At the time, Kennedy said: “We are honoured and humbled to be able to play this important role in setting the brand strategy and visual identity for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We know how important this opportunity is to the people of Brisbane, Queensland, and Australia.”
