VERSA Delivers Voice Capabilities For Amazon Echo Spot

Voice agency announces two news skills for Australian brands

In line with the recent release of the highly anticipated Amazon Echo Spot in Australia, VERSA, the nation’s first enterprise-level Voice Experience (VX) agency, has launched two new skills for leading local brands Domino’s Pizza and CoastalWatch.

Working with Domino’s Pizza, VERSA designed a first-to-market experience which allows customers to quickly and easily place and track their favourite order, simply by asking Alexa. Australian surf report website, CoastalWatch, engaged VERSA to build on its custom skill to enable surfers to get more detailed, real-time information about surf conditions and forecasts for Australian beaches with for Alexa Echo Spot. Both skills were implemented to bring a new level of convenience and service to users via VX.

VERSA Business Director, Guy Munro, said voice is an exciting channel that is truly delivering on its promise to enhance customer experiences and interactions with brands.

“The Echo Spot is the first multi-modal device in market and represents a new way for consumers to interact with voice. Our original Domino’s and CoastalWatch skills have now been taken to a whole new level with accompanying images, gesture interactions and copy to enhance what were already cool experiences.”

Kate Burleigh, Country Manager, Alexa Skills, said: “We’re thrilled to see the innovative skills that developers and agencies like Versa have brought to Alexa since we’ve introduced the Voice Service and Echo family of devices to Australia and New Zealand. The introduction of these skills for multimodal devices will enable customers to experience voice-led services in a whole new way. Not only can Alexa tell you things, but she can now show you too – all you have to do is ask.”

The new partnerships follow a string of successes for VERSA, including its recent collaborations with Village Cinemas and Flight Centre, and are supported by VERSA’s technology agnostic team, comprising creative technologists and speech coders, as well as voice scripting and experience experts, who come together to create bespoke solutions across devices including Google Home, Amazon Alexa and now Amazon Echo Spot.Formed in partnership by digital frontrunners Deepend (Australia) and RAIN (USA) to offer a full suite of Voice Experience (VX), Australian brands have welcomed VERSA’s arrival in market, demonstrating a clear appetite for brands to establish their voice offering, ahead of the curve.
