The commercial is set at a large family gathering, with the family members arriving in different Volkswagens suited to their family size, set against a jaunty song to the tune of ‘the ants go marching in’.

Dylan Harrison, executive creative director, DDB Sydney said: “The best Volkswagen work has always been a product experience elevated to a human experience. To communicate the vibrant diversity of all of the models in the Volkswagen family, creating an equally real family was irresistible. Add a dash of the Volkswagen take on life and we’ve produced a campaign we’re immensely proud of.”

The launch of the campaign marks  Volkswagen’s 60th year in Australia.

The 45second TVC is complemented by a series of 60second interviews with the families in which they discuss how the car fits in with them.

The campaign will launch on Sunday.
