Volkswagen shows what an extra 18 kilowatts can do

Volkswagen Australia has shown why its Amarok V6 ute model is 18 kilowatts better than its competitors.

Created by DDB Sydney, the 30 second commercial shows how 18 kilowatts of power equates to having an extra dirt bike “under the hood”.

The Amarok V6 has 33 kilowatts of power.

Nicholas Reid, commercial vehicles marketing manager at Volkswagen, said: “With the Overboost feature, the Amarok V6 puts down 180kW of power, which is way ahead of the competition.

“The challenge to our agency DDB Sydney in creating our new campaign was to translate that into something meaningful to the audience.”

Amanda Wheeler, managing partner at DDB Sydney, said: “With the help of some talented people and some pretty impressive machinery, we brought the Amarok’s 33kW difference to life – turning that intangible difference in power into something people can relate to.”
