Warner Bros. Pictures and Fanta link up to celebrate new Beetlejuice film

Iconic film distribution and production company, Warner Bros. Pictures, is working with Coca-Cola’s Fanta brand to release specially designed cans celebrating the release of upcoming 2024 film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The global partnership sees Fanta and Warner Bros. placing three characters from Tim Burton’s sequel onto three Fanta cans, pairing Beetlejuice’s ghoulish fun with Fanta’s devilish taste.

The Orange and Orange Zero Sugar cans will have Astrid – Lydia Deetz’s daughter, played by American actress Jenna Ortega. The Strawberry Zero Sugar can boasts Lydia herself, Winona Ryder, and Pineapple Zero Sugar stars the man of the afterlife, Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton.

From September, the cans will be made “available in selected retailers and major grocery stores across the country (including Coles and Woolworths)”.

“We are so thrilled to be bringing the darkly imaginative and ghoulishly creative Beetlejuice to cinemas this September and are proud to partner with Fanta® on this character’s long-awaited return to the big screen,” Warner Bros. Pictures’ executive vice president, worldwide marketing, Dana Nussbaum, said.

“Fanta® is a brilliant collaborator and has delivered a truly inventive spin on their product with a limited-edition packaging that pairs perfectly with visionary filmmaker Tim Burton’s iconic creation.”

Outside of its new cans, Fanta is also serving as the official drink partner of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. This means that moviegoers will have the chance to invest in frozen Fanta drinks served “in special-edition cinema cups”.

The soft drink brand is also giving 500 fans the chance to secure Event Cinemas movie vouchers for the horror flick via a competition beginning on August 15. Hopeful winners can follow the brand’s Australian Instagram account – @FantaAU – to participate.

“Fanta has always been about embracing fun, vibrant, and playful moments,” Coca-Cola Australia’s senior marketing director, Kate Miller, said.

“Teaming up with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a natural fit for us, as both our brand and the film celebrate creativity, mischief, and the unexpected.

“There’s more to come with this iconic partnership, —keep an eye out for more thrilling surprises and exclusive experiences as we get closer to Halloween.”

The sequel to the Academy Award-winning, 1988 classic, Beetlejuice, 2024’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice reunites Burton, Keaton and Ryder to tell the story of the above-mentioned Astrid accidentally opening the portal to the Afterlife, allowing the troublesome ghost Beetlejuice to step through.

The film is set for theatrical release in Australia on September 5.
