Warner Music Australasia makes changes to marketing team amidst suite of new hires and promotions

Warner Music Australasia has made a number of new hires and promotions across its commercial and marketing teams, among others.

Warner Music Australasia (WMA) today announced a number of new hires and internal promotions to further build on its ability to deliver the best results for its local and international artists.

WMA is thrilled to announce the appointment of Adrian Wauchope as the new SVP commercial Australasia heading up the commercial team for the region. Adrian brings a wealth of experience having previously served in senior commercial positions at Salesforce and Universal Music Australia. WMA is strengthening its data and insights capabilities with the appointment of Chris Mills as the head of data & insights, reporting into Adrian in the commercial team. Chris brings extensive experience in data and analytics from his previous role as the international data and analytics lead at Virgin Music.

Other changes within the commercial team include the promotion of Emily Crews to VP of sync and brands. Steven Schuddeboom has been promoted to the role of e-commerce operations manager, and Thom Gywnne has been promoted to the role of digital media strategist.

In addition, the marketing team reporting to Chris Erskine SVP of marketing and promotions has also undergone some changes. Dan Ellis will be promoted to VP marketing – international as WMA continues to be a key market in breaking the current and next generation of global superstars. Shane Swampillai has been hired as a marketing manager within the international artist marketing team, bringing experience from his previous roles at Paramount+ and EMI Music. Within the Australian Artist marketing team lead by Alex Young, Alexandra Knight has been promoted to a marketing executive role, and Chanel Morris has been hired as the marketing coordinator.

Finally, the company is excited to announce several other internal promotions. Marcus Thaine will move into a senior A&R manager role, reporting to Paul Harris SVP A&R and Catherine Nicholls will move into a senior label manager, ADA & distributed labels role, reporting to SVP ADA & distributed roles, Ben Ralph.

These promotions are all well-deserved and reflect the ongoing contribution these individuals have brought and will continue to bring to WMA.

The changes are designed to strengthen WMA’s position as label of choice for the best and most talented Australian and NZ artists to take their music to the world, and further enhance its ability to break the current and next generation of global superstar acts in this region.
