Watch retailer Kennedy adds David Jones and QBE talent

Australian luxury watch retailer Kennedy has added two senior industry figures to the business following online and retail expansion in the past 12 months.

David Jones director of retail and operations Aaron Faraguna is joining the retailer as group general manager retail and merchandise, while Bettina Pidcock joins Kennedy as chief marketing officer after 30 years’ experience in marketing and communications, most recently as chief customer officer at QBE Insurance (Australia).

Faraguna and Pidcock will join Brant Clutterbuck who was appointed chief financial officer in July 2020. Clutterbuck previously held the positions of Starbucks Australia CFO, as well as general manager at Asahi Group. Both will be based in Sydney.

The newly installed executive team will report to Kennedy executive chairman James Kennedy.“The company is in a strong position and our enhanced teams’ expertise will help us further strengthen our performance by getting even closer to our customers,’’ Kennedy said.

“Having worked in a number of businesses ranging from start-ups to large corporate enterprises, Aaron has extensive experience across all retail disciplines, specifically identifying and establishing new markets for brands, implementing and maintaining operational excellence and building high performing retail teams,” Kennedy added.

Pidcock extensive experience in marketing consumer financial services will be leveraged to guide the company’s brand positioning, with an “emphasis on e-commerce and digital”, said Kennedy.

Pidcock will also have responsibility for building the brand of Kennedy, creating a personalised digital experience and negotiating key sponsorship and partnership deals.

Kennedy has 14 boutiques across Australia, featuring luxury brands such as Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Longines, Omega, Patek Philippe, Panerai, Rolex and Tudor.
