We Are Explorers launches ‘Act Local’ YouTube series featuring Cameron Doyle
We Are Explorers has launched a new 26-episode YouTube series, ‘Act Local’, hosted by journalist Cameron Doyle. The series will follow Doyle travelling around Australia.
The announcement:
A brand-new YouTube series called ‘Act Local’ has hit screens in May to inspire Aussies to take action in their local communities across the country. Produced by We Are Explorers, a BCorp certified travel publisher that aims to inspire people to explore and protect the natural environment, the series will take viewers on a journey to meet the unsung heroes of conservation.
Hosted by journalist and presenter, Cameron Doyle, ‘Act Local’ will follow the ‘Explorer Bus’ as it travels around Australia, seeking out stories of people who are making a difference in their local communities. The 26 episode series is exclusively available on YouTube and includes trail runners using the power of community events to protect the environment, to a movement of surfers who are fighting against the risk climate breakdown poses to our oceans.
“At We Are Explorers, we believe that everyone can play a role in protecting the environment, no matter how small,” said Henry Brydon, the founder of We Are Explorers. “With ‘Act Local’, we want to showcase the inspiring work of people who are doing just that. We hope that by sharing their stories, we can inspire others to take action in their own communities.”
The series will be available on We Are Explorers’ YouTube channel, with the first two episodes of the series already live. Each episode will run for approximately 10 minutes, with a new episode released every two weeks. Viewers can expect stunning scenery, heartwarming stories, and practical tips on how they can make a difference in their own communities.
“We’re incredibly excited to be launching ‘Act Local’,” said Cam Doyle. “It’s such an important time to be shining a light on grassroots conservationists and their work, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I can’t wait to share these inspiring stories with viewers.”
Ed Miles, director, YouTube Australia and New Zealand said: “We Are Explorers are incredible storytellers and another Australian voice finding a home on YouTube. The Act Local series is eye-opening and we at YouTube hope it encourages everyone to think about how they too can help have a positive impact on the environment. Make sure you subscribe and follow along!”
