Wednesday ratings nightmare for Ten

Ten’s ratings-starved The 7PM Project was able to claim a modest victory last night – as the second most watched show on the network.

However, it was mainly because Ten had one of its worst evenings of the year to date, with no show on the station coming even close to a million viewers.

Ten finished a poor fourth behind ABC1, with a share of just 17.1%, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.

Ten’s best performer of the night was its 7.30pm episode of The Simpsons, which pulled in 844,000. The 7PM Project managed 730,000, while the British franchise of Law & Order: UK appears to be failing to win over Aussie viewers, with an average of just 670,000 tuning in last night.

The evening was a two way fight between Seven and Nine. Seven won thanks to a good performance from World’s Strictest Parents. Meanwhile, the second episode of Nine’s money saving tips show Money For Jam faded by a couple of hundred thousand on its opening despite offering advice to viewers on how to get a part time job as a burlesque dancer.

Wednesday evening’s ratings share:

  • Seven: 28.1
  • Nine: 26.2
  • ABC1: 18.6
  • Ten: 17.1
  • SBS1 4.8
  • GO!: 2.3
