WhiteGrey CEO Lee Simpson said: “It’s fantastic to be chosen as UBank’s strategic and creative partner at this significant moment in their history. The level of UBank’s ambition is matched by the quality of the experience which is an exciting combination. We can’t wait to work with the UBank team to bring this offering to more Australians.”

Head of UBank Marketing John Cusumano added: “It’s UBank’s purpose to help more Australians take control of their money. We are excited to partner with WhiteGrey who will help us accelerate UBank’s growth by combining its established name and customer base with 86 400’s technology platform and experience. WhiteGrey are best placed to support us as we deliver a new digital experience and product propositions to our new and existing customers.”

The Monkeys was the incumbent agency.

WhiteGrey won the creative and brand accounts for restaurant finder The Fork eight months ago.

In 2020, WPP merged AKQA and Grey to form a new network model, AKQA Group. In Australia, this means that White Grey and AKQA now sit beside each other in the AKQA Group.

Digital bank UBank was launched in 2008 by NAB. In May 2021, NAB announced the acquisition of neobank 86 400 to combine with UBank.
