Women’s Health Awards to be broadcast on Seven

Women’s Health Women In Sports Awards will be broadcast on Seven for the first time in its eight year history.

The event, which will be held on October 17 in Sydney, will celebrate female athletes from grassroots to elite level.

Seven’s broadcast will run the week of October 28, marking the first time a female sporting awards has aired on free-to-air television. At the same time, a number of sponsors including the Federal Government, Pantene, Rebel, Toyota and Samsung have come on board.

Jacqui Mooney, editor of Women’s Health said the broadcast was a “tremendous recognition” of the dedication of Australian athletes.

“WinS is so much more than an awards night, it’s an always-on platform committed to supporting sportswomen at all levels and this is the natural next step for the property,” Mooney said.

Kurt Burnette, chief revenue officer at Seven West Media, added: “We’re thrilled to share the WinS Awards with the millions of Australians we reach across the Seven network every month. Securing the broadcast shows the combined power of Women’s Health and Seven West Media as a joint sporting force.”
