Woolworths corporate affairs manager Russell Mahoney joins Coca-Cola as Claire Kimball also exits supermarket chain
Russell Mahoney, corporate affairs manager of Woolworths, has departed the supermarket chain after two-and-a-half years joining Coca-Cola South Pacific.
Mahoney joins Coca-Cola as a senior manager of government relations and communications.
His departure comes amidst a raft of changes in the Woolworths corporate communications team with Claire Kimball, head of group communications looking after corporate communications and media relations for corporate and all the brands and former adviser to Tony Abbott, departing the business after nearly four years.
John Connolly, advisor to News Corp’s Lachlan Murdoch, is set to advise the supermarket on financial communications while PPR NSW market leader and director of client services, Peter O’Sullivan, is joining Woolworths as its head of consumer PR and will be reporting into marketing boss Andrew Hicks.
PPR confirmed O’Sullivan was exiting the agency after more than 10 years to join Woolworths at the beginning of August.
Richard Lazar, PPR CEO and managing director, told Mumbrella: “He has a lot to offer Woolworths and I wish him every success.”
Coca-Cola South Pacific have been approached for comment.
