Wunderman Thompson bolsters creative team, hires Bullfrog talent

WPP agency Wunderman Thompson has nabbed Bullfrog’s Iain MacMillan, among other new hires across the creative team.

Joining as creative director, MacMillan will be based in Melbourne and will work closely alongside Stephanie Gwee, who has been promoted to creative director after joining late last year.

MacMillan has worked on brands including Google, Mountain Dew and Pedigree at numerous agencies over the past 12 years like CHEP and Special NZ.

On his appointment, he said he’s looking forward to working with Gwee and national chief creative officer, João Braga.

“It’s an exciting time at Wunderman Thompson, with the agency poised to create some amazing work. Charting where the agency could go is one of those challenges I can’t wait to undertake with Steph and João.”

Braga said: “It’s an exciting time for Wunderman Thompson in Australia as we make our national team more fluid and connected with the arrival of this lovely bunch of great humans and amazingly talented individuals.

“Can’t wait to see them pushing the bar for our clients, driving innovation, and elevating our craft.”

Maddy McGuinness joins Wunderman Thompson from DDB, as the agency’s new art director. She will be based in Sydney, along with Jared Kinsler, who also joins as copywriter.

Kinsler recently relocated from Austin, where he worked at IBM.

In Perth, the agency has hired Brendan Morrow and Jade Koch as junior copywriter and graphic designer.
