Wunderman Thompson enlists Annabelle Barnum as its Sydney GM

Wunderman Thompson has appointed Annabelle Barnum as general manager of its Sydney office.

Barnum brings to Wunderman Thompson over 15 years’ experience, working in a variety of businesses including marketing, digital and innovation, content creation and start-ups. She joins from Re Design (part of the M&C Saatchi Group), where she was the group capability head, design and experience. She was responsible for leading the design and experience capability for Woolworths.

Barnum also led the brand refresh for CommBank at Re – the first time the brand has made changes in 30 years.

Prior to Re, she also held roles in M&C Saatchi, WPP, Imagination, GHO and beyond the advertising field as an artist, working across the Australian and US markets.

Most recently, Wunderman Thompson has also made a couple of leadership promotions within the team.

Managing director at Wunderman Thompson, Nick Muncaster, said: “Annabelle is such a fabulous hire, she’s incredibly experienced, smart, passionate, and driven. She’ll be the perfect partner to our business, our clients and me. Bringing this talented and wonderful person into our team, the Sydney office is in great hands as we continue developing our WT superpowers.”

On her appointment, Barnum commented: “I’m simply honoured to be given the opportunity to lead the Sydney team at Wunderman Thompson. It’s an exciting time to be joining the team, working with like-minded individuals and experts who are uniquely positioned to work with businesses that are ambitious and want to create meaningful connections and positive contributions to the world.”
