X Factor begins to climb as cricket domination continues

Seven’s X Factor saw its audience climb on Sunday night, improving on last week’s record low, as the entertainment show benefitted from weak competition on rival channels.

x-factorSeven saw the audience climb from 676,000 last week to 700,000 at 7:00pm, but the show was still out-rated by Grand Designs on the ABC at 7:30pm.

Seven also saw success with Sunday night at 8:30pm drawing 656,000 viewers, with the combination helping the network to the overnight win.

However, Nine’s telecast of the first Test from Perth which has seen the third session of each day’s play in the heart of prime time on the east coast was the most watched non-news show of the evening, with 753,000 tuning in the see the start of Australia’s run chase.

60 Minutes, which featured the story about the death of baby Darcy Atkinson and his mother’s quest for answers, drew 648,000 at 8:30pm.

Three days out from the US Presidential election saw a win for SBS with a special on Trump versus Clinton at 8:35pm attracting 387,000 viewers.

Seven won the night with a share of 19.6%, outpacing Nine with 16.2% while Ten drew a share of 9.4%.

The ABC captured 12.6% and SBS 7.4%.
