Xbox turns to real Aussies to sell Kinect

Microsoft will this Sunday launch a TV ad campaign for Xbox 360’s Kinect technology which allows users to play games with their bodies rather than a controller.

It features footage of players of all ages trying out the equipment, which goes on sale in about three weeks time.

The eight week pre-Christmas campaign is being led by Universal McCann.

Matthew Ball, brand and marketing communications manager for Xbox said: “This campaign presents real Australians enjoying themselves with Kinect. The reactions are unscripted, expressions are completely natural and everything you see is completely genuine. What we are showing is real responses as people play Kinect and the experience speaks for itself.”

The TV campaign is also being backed by experiential events in shopping centres nationally.

The footage was filmed by Ensemble, with editing and production by Studio 33.
