Xero accountant helps failing pizza joint thrive in new work

Xero wants business owners to know how having an accountant can help their small businesses thrive, with a new campaign by Emotive and Resolution Media.

The ‘It pays to add a Xero’ ad tells the story of a man with an unsuccessful pizza joint seeking help from a Xero accountant and transforming his business into a social media hotspot, with a new logo and website, ultimately creating a successful pizza chain.

Xero’s new work aims to show business owners how much money they can make, and how restful their weekends and nights can be, by developing a relationship with a Xero adviser.

“Only 51% of businesses survive on a five-year journey. But if they are on Xero, 88 per cent of them survive,” said Trent Innes, managing director of Xero Australia.

“We believe one of the key reasons for that is 92 per cent of small businesses on Xero have an adviser. This campaign brought to life and celebrated the importance of that relationship.”

Simon Joyce, CEO and Founder of Emotive said the greatest challenge was performing edits for radio and outdoor, while Stuart Van Eysden, director at Resolution said the brand wanted to “push the boundaries stylistically”.

The campaign will roll out on online, video, radio and out of home.

In October last year, former global chief marketing officer Andy Lark announced his departure from the business.
