Droga5 hires Sonia Caeiro as communications director
Creative agency Droga5 has hired its first communications director.
The role has been filled by Sonia Caeiro from the sister title to AdNews, Australian Creative, where she was editor.
Caeiro starts today, calling time on less than 18 months with the Yaffa publication.
Droga5 boss David Nobay told Mumbrella in a statement: “These days, it’s naïve to think that the concept and the execution is everything. Any idea’s impact is determined as much by how it lands within the popular media environment, as anything else. Sonia’s role isn’t about making our internal comms more slick, it’s about ensuring that our ideas punch harder for our clients.”
Before joining Yaffa last year, she was a producer at music company Attic Productions.
The editorship of Australian Creative has been taken on by freelancer Candide McDonald.
Just what Droga5 needs, some spin.

Congratulations Sonia. It looks to me like Droga5 is doing interesting things (I love fresh thinking myself!), and thinking about PR and communications with every project as an in-house service for clients is a solid idea IMHO. All the best with it.
