Nine tops Logies haul
Seven had one of its worst Logies performances in recent years on Sunday, picking up just three out the 25 trophies awarded .
Nine topped the list with eight trophies, followed by the ABC with seven Logies and Ten with four. SBS and Foxtel picked up on each, while former Nine newsreader Brian Henderson was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The result for Nine tops a rapid turnaround for the network, which three years ago suffered its worst performance in half a century, winning just one trophy.
Ten’s Asher Keddie, star of Offspring, picked up the Gold Logie.
The Logies are organised by Bauer Media’s TV Week.

Is it a coincidence that every year the channel that hosts the show end sup with the most awards. House Husbands? Really? MKR losing to The Block?Come on, we’re not stupid. TV Week must have some deal with the channel that hosts the show to reward it for screening the telecast in the first place. Otherwise, no channel would screen it.

Hi George,
I don;t think your theory entirely works. Nine hosts it every year. As I mention in the story, three years ago, Nine received just one trophy.
However, I do think TV Week has a remarkable lack of transparency about who the judges are.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Which tabloid network do you least trust?
Mine goes (in order of least trustworthy):
Nine
Seven
Ten
It would be great to know who the judges are of the Logies and what their relationship is with the TV stations and sponsors too.

The Block, according to the Logies judges, is better than MKR? MKR has repeatedly beat both Nine and Ten programming for its timeslot. MKR gets three times as much social media traffic (Twitter and Facebook) than the Block. The Logies cannot be taken seriously..

Yes. I’m sure the Seven Network must feel terrible that Packed To The Rafters didn’t win the Logie for most Popular Drama when over 20 weeks it got on average more than 400,000/week more viewers than House Husbands. I’m afraid audience numbers talk in free to air no matter how many Logies you win. But Australia really is in trouble when House Husbands starts winning awards. And it is terribly politically incorrect to criticise Redfern Now but it was bad drama, slow, obvious, heavy handed and with little audience. The critics fawned while the audience slept.

So the Oscar for the best movie should go to the one with the biggest box office take? Nonsense.
