2017 AMY Awards scooped by Clemenger BDO Melbourne

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne swept the board at the Digital + Technology Collective’s 2017 AMY Awards held last Friday in Melbourne.

2017 AMY Awards Winners Announced

Melbourne, 10 July, 2017 – Hot off the heels of its coronation as 2017 Cannes Agency of the Year, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne once again has cause for celebration after sweeping up the most awards at the 2017 AMY Awards, held last Friday at the Peninsula C, Melbourne.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s hat trick win were for their work on Snickers and Transport Accident Commission, which saw them take home Best Social Good Campaign, Best Digitally Led Marketing Campaign – Retail & Consumer Goods, and Best Social or Content Led Marketing Campaign – Retail & Consumer Goods. Coming in second are Adrenalin who took home the Best Website or Online Service – Automotive and Best Website or Online Service – Learning & Education gongs and Nomad whose Sound Storm iPad Application for National Acoustic Laboratories won them the Best Smartphone or Tablet Application – Health & Wellbeing trophy and the overall Grand Prix Award.

“It was the overall quality of the entries that was the stand-out feature of the show this year with some incredible work from both agencies and clients alike,” said Matt Griffin, Chair of Judges for this year’s AMY awards and CEO of Deepend Group. “In many cases, the winning work highlights that true digital brilliance is conceived and delivered through the closest of these client-agency relationships.”

Congratulations are also in order for Joe Purves of Digital Media Group who was named Digital Person of the Year; Deakin University’s Digital Marketing Team for Digital Team of the Year and Start VR for Digital Start-up of the Year.

A total of 37 awards were given out and 18 highly commended mentions made in total, including Most Outstanding Contribution to Griffin. Chair of Digital + Technology Collective, Nima Yassini, presented Griffin with the award and during his speech recognised Griffin for his contribution to the industry over the years which has helped put Australia on the map and inspired other Australians to continue to create exceptional work.

The AMY Awards Digirati Party attracted more than 300 digital natives to the Peninsula. Comedian Matt Okine took on MC duties for the night, while guests dined on a specially created three-course menu by celebrity chef, Luke Mangan. After the awards were given away, guests partied the night away to Jukebox Dynamite, DJ Scotty Sax and vocalist Michelle Martine. Digital + Technology Collective acknowledges its sponsors for their generous support including Optimizely Australia, Tealium, Victorian Government, Blake Entertainment and Peppers Docklands.
