2GB to mark CCT 25th anniversary

2GB will mark the 25th anniversary of its NRL show The Continuous Call Team by broadcasting- on the road- across regional NSW, QLD and ACT.

The announcement:

Australia’s number one NRL radio program, 2GB’s The Continuous Call Team (CCT), today announced the campaign launch of its ‘25 Year Anniversary Tour’, with on air promotion hitting the airwaves on August 9.

2011 marks the 25th anniversary of The Continuous Call Team, and to celebrate this milestone Ray Hadley is taking the show on the road. 2GB will broadcast from towns big and small across regional NSW, QLD and the ACT to show their appreciation for 25 years of support and to visit remote country rugby league towns.

2GB will launch ‘CCT 25 Year Tour Partner’ sponsorship packages to media and advertisers on August 9 ahead of the 2011 tour.

Macquarie Radio Network’s National Sales and Marketing Director, Mark Noakes, said, “Over the past quarter century, the Continuous Call Team has become an institution of the rugby league community. The Continuous Call Team has been broadcasting since 1987 from Sydney each and every week during the footy season. Coverage now extends to almost 70 stations in Australia from Townsville to Perth and even internationally, from Port Moresby to Auckland.

“Ray Hadley and his team should be extremely proud of this landmark tour. It’s a way for them to give back to their loyal listeners in both metropolitan and regional areas. The tour partner packages are available from August 9th, offering marketers the opportunity to align their brand with ours, both above and below-the-line.”

Ray Hadley said, “I can’t wait to visit our listeners in the bush. We thrive on heartland support. We will be broadcasting live from some great NRL communities and this is really a terrific opportunity for any corporation with a bit of NRL blood in their veins to connect with regional Australia at a grass root level.”
