303 creative director Watt to depart
Sydney creative director of 303, Julian Watt, is leaving the ad agency, with co-founder Lindsay Medalia to take on the new role of national creative director.
Medalia, based in Perth, will take lead creative responsibilities across the agency’s two offices in conjunction with Tony Williams, currently head of art also based in Perth.
Nick Cleaver, 303 chief executive said the creation of the national roles will see greater collaboration between its two creative departments.
He added that at this stage there would be other appointments to be made. “We will review that situation as we progress, but there are no immediate announcements to make,” he said.
It is not known if Watt has a job to go to. In August, during a media briefing, he said that a campaign aimed at stopping teens from binge drinking used TV advertising rather than placing greater emphasis on online because of “political pressure for Rudd to be seen to be doing stuff”.
