303 MullenLowe loses ECD Richard Morgan
303 MullenLowe’s executive creative director Richard Morgan is set to depart the agency.
Morgan joined in January 2013 back when the company was simply known as 303Lowe after a brief stint at DDB Sydney.
During his time with the agency, it rebranded to 303 MullenLowe after the global group bought into Boston-based Mullen group.
303 MullenLowe worked on campaigns for Crust Pizza, Budget Direct, Audi, Fujitsu and the Royal Life Saving Society while Morgan was at the helm.
Nick Cleaver, CEO of 303 MullenLowe, said it was Morgan’s decision to move on from the agency.
“[Richard’s] made a fantastic contribution to the growth of our agency over the last five years and he’s been an invaluable member of our leadership team. As sad as we are to see him go, we’re excited to see what he does next – he’s a true talent and a passionate leader, and we wish him all the very best in his next endeavours.”
Morgan said he was proud of his achievements with the agency.
“Im immensely proud of my role in building 303 MullenLowe into a credentialed national agency of over 120 people – and having raised its creative profile,” he said. “It’s been an amazing journey and I’ve loved every minute, but equally it feels like the right time to embark on my next challenge. There are some key projects in the pipeline that I will continue to consult on and finish up.
“I’ve enjoyed being part of a team that has built a truly integrated agency offering and being able to demonstrate how our creativity and effectiveness is enhanced by having media thinking, data analytics and technologists all in house. It all adds to delivering an unfair share of attention across diverse platforms.”
Chief strategy officer Jon McKie praised Morgan as “one of the nicest blokes in advertising”.
“Rich’s contribution to the evolution of 303 has been immense, but on top of shaping a strong and diverse creative department, he also happens to be one of the nicest blokes in advertising – he’ll be dearly missed when he leaves.”
Throughout his career, Morgan has also spent time as associate creative director of BMF and creative director at Holler.
303 MullenLowe said a new ECD will be announced later this month.
