303 Mullen Lowe Perth appoints joint MDs as Derry Simpson takes on Telethon Kids Institute role

Todd Baker and René Migliore are 303 Mullenlowe Perth’s new joint managing directors, as former MD Derry Simpson becomes strategic chair to accommodate her new role as head of brand and strategy for Telethon Kids Institute.

Simpson will continue to work closely with the 303 Mullen Lowe management team to provide guidance on key client relationships.

Simpson said the opportunity with Telethon Kids Institute was too good to pass up.

“Those who know me, know how close to my heart child health is, and the opportunity to work in brand strategy for one of the world’s most prestigious child health research institutes – while maintaining an ongoing connection to 303 – is simply too compelling to ignore,” she said.

Commenting on the leadership switch up, 303 Mullen Lowe CEO Nick Cleaver said: “We are delighted to elevate Todd and René into this leadership role. Both Todd and René are proven performers for the agency and bring a depth of knowledge of our business and of our clients to the role.

“René will also continue to lead Mediahub Perth and build on the momentum we have generated in that business.”

Baker joined 303 Mullenlowe in 2012, and has worked in Perth for 13 years. He has been 303 Mullen Lowe’s client services director for the past four years and recently added the responsibilities of general manager to his remit.

“I’m proud to be given the opportunity to lead 303 Mullen Lowe and build upon the success of the MDs before us,” Baker said.

“303 is currently delivering brilliant work and we have a mix of outstanding professionals that really complement and support each other. Now René and I get to harness that talent to continue delivering the kind of work that we, and of course our clients are proud of.”

Migliore added that both he and Baker are “excited about this new chapter” for the agency’s leadership team.

“We look forward to building on the momentum we have created in both the agency and at Mediahub. The way we work is a great reflection of the agency’s collaborative culture and true to the original ethos of 303 which has always been about harnessing the collective and complementary skill sets of the team,” he said.

John Linton remains head of planning, with a new senior strategic planner, Smiljka Dimitrijevic, added to his team. Dimitrijevic previously worked at Marketforce and at a London strategic consultancy.

Michael Corry also joins 303 as head of digital strategy.
