Fairfax promotes Kristiaan Kroon to National Agency Sales & Commercial Partnerships Director

Fairfax Media has promoted Kristiaan Kroon to national agency sales & commercial partnerships director.

The announcement: 

Kristiaan Kroon has been appointed National Agency Sales & Commercial Partnerships Director, responsible for Fairfax Media’s national agency sales, trading strategy and commercial partnerships.

Kroon, who joined Fairfax a year ago as Director of Commercial Development and Partnerships, continues to report to Australian Publishing Media Commercial and Marketing Services Director Tom Armstrong.

Kroon has led Fairfax’s trading strategy with media agencies and key clients and has also delivered several new commercial partnerships, including Facebook Instant Articles.

Armstrong said: “Kristiaan is a valuable member of our commercial team and has led several key initiatives. Bringing a wealth of experience from his UK publishing background, Kristiaan steps into this new role leading our agency sales strategy as well as driving key commercial partnerships.”

Kroon has more than 15 years’ experience in the media industry. Prior to joining Fairfax, he was Trading Director at the UK’s largest newspaper publisher ­ Trinity Mirror, where he was responsible for a portfolio including the Daily Mirror ­ with a weekly reach of 28 million people­ as well as leading trade negotiations across key agency groups and top advertisers.
